So its been a little while since my last update. April is still going very well for me. I played the Sunday Million on PS for the first time in a long time and cashed but got knocked out 599th in a blindvblind pair vs. pair situation. The heads up cash games have continued to go very well for me and I have begun to take shots at 2/4. I am on step 3 of the WSOP steps and haven’t played too many so I really have to focus on that for a bit.
I am in the process of planning a Vegas trip anyway for the beginning of the WSOP. I want to play 2 or 3 events and make it like a mini vacation for my me and my fiance. I’d likely fly out on June 3rd and come home around the 11th or 12th. Hopefully I would be flying back in at the beginning of July for the main event.
I just filed my taxes for 2007 and it looks like I’m going to end up owing about 4.2k which sucks the big one but it could be much worse. Unfortunately, my financial situation last year did not allow me to put money away throughout the year so I am going to be stuck trying to make payments to the IRS. For this year, I have started an Etrade savings account and put away portions of the money I’ve made. I’m in a pretty big and vicious debt cycle that I’ve been working very hard at to get out of in the past few months. I just gotta keep grinding and do my best to pay everything off before the baby comes.
Not gonna post any hands in this update but I’m sure I’ll have some soon. Please leave some comments just to let me know that someone is reading this and I’m not updating this for myself, haha. Also, if anyone has any suggestions or questions I’d be very interested in hearing them.

April has been an excellent month for me thus far. I feel like I’m playing pretty well and running pretty well for the most part. I think the most important thing that I’ve done in the past 3-4 months that has allowed me to succeed is implementing a routine. I play at the pretty much the same time every day and try to limit myself to no more than 2 hour sessions unless I’m playing someone terrible in which case I’ll continue until they are broke. I’ve been making sure to eat breakfast every day and get a couple of well balanced meals in throughout the day. About a month ago I started taking a multivitiman which has a special stress formula and I’m very happy with the way I feel in general. I’ve also been excercising and spending a lot of times with my friends.. two things which I feel aid my poker success.
I have played a few tournaments here and there and got relatively deep in two of them but no final table. I’m hoping to play some of the Sunday tourneys this week.
I have to figure out why camtasia messes up the audio when I make videos. I’ve made a few so far and everytime the audio has been delayed by like 2 seconds. If anyone has any experience with this, let me know.
I’ve had a bunch of interesting sessions since my last blog post. I had my first losing day since February 24th on Saturday when at one point I was stuck almost $800, but ended up losing about $350 for the day. I feel like the games are amazingly good right now and I’ve been able to play some really terrible players. Here are a few hands from the past few days:
Didn’t think he had anything here and I was planning on getting in pre so I said F it..

Things have gone really well so far in the first week at the new place. I really love my little office I have set up, I feel having my own space allows me to concentrate fully on poker and I’ve also gotten into a nice little schedule. I’ve been eating much better and playing a lot of tennis. I did a video the other day but the audio kinda got messed up so I’m thinking I’ll do one next week and hopefully post it on here for you guys to download.
The step tourneys for the WSOP have been frustrating lately and I’m back to having only a step 3 and a step 2 ticket. Hopefully I can go on a nice little rush in those and win my seat.
I think pretty soon if I can get enough focus together to do so I’d like to write a few articles on Heads up cash games that could possibly be beneficial to anyone who reads this. In the meantime here are a few hands from the past few days, there haven’t been too many interesting spots because I’ve really been game selecting well and getting really bad opponents.
This guy was really really bad and I run good obv:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2382430
This one I think may be spew in the long run but at the time I felt like I had the best hand. It was actually when I was recording the video and I felt like based on my read of his betting patterns he either had 67 or air here.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2382434
I tarped him!

Ahhh crap.. YESSSS!

That’s it for now, moving in to apartment tomorrow so probably done for the week. Check out this blog post from my good friend Jordan. Good stuff:http://jord4npoker.blogspot.com/

Last week was one of my favorite weeks in recent memory. Right after my update I found out that we got approved for the new apartment so we will be moving in this upcoming Saturday. I’m super psyched about the move and the place is really nice. At about 11:30 on Friday, my friend Sweeney and I went up to a Philly Sports bar called Chickies and Petes(http://www.chickiesandpetes.com/page/page/790062.htm) to watch the games. They had a special going from 12-4 that was all you can eat and drink. They gave you a list of food and beer to select from and we ended up getting everything on the list. Here was the breakdown: Crabfries (2 orders, probably the best fries in the world imo), Chicken wings, Chicken cutlets, a whole pizza, Mussels in Red (2 orders) Mussels in White (2 orders), and I ate a Roast Pork sandwhich and washed everything down with a bunch of lagers. I was hurting for the rest of the night but it was a great time and there was some great games so it was money well spent.
Saturday, Jody and I woke up early to head down to our apartment in Brigantine with her mother to get all of our stuff packed up. We spent most of the day doing that and got back to my mom’s house around 4:30. I got free tickets for the Sixers game that night so I picked up my friend Raj at his house in Philly and we headed to the game to watch them take on the Nets. The seats were pretty high up which kinda sucked for the first half but at the half we met up with some friends that were at the game and had a few beers at the bar and decided to try to get down on the first level. We were able to walk right through without anyone bothering us and sat like 12 rows up from the Sixers bench to watch an entertaining second half with the Sixers taking home the win. I have tix again for Wednesday against the Bulls.
We hit up a bar afterwards because one of my college friends came to visit from New York I didn’t stay out too late because Jody was pretty tired. Sunday we did lots of family stuff which was a good time.
Today I played for about an hour again almost all 200nl HU and won 4 buy ins quickly. Here are the fun hands:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2321689
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2321703
Those were the only two big hands I won, the rest were all just small to medium pots with no showdown. Hopefully this week I can grind out a bunch of hands because I am well short of my hand goal for the month. The next few weeks are going to be very busy with the move.
Do you guys prefer to read the hand histories in the blog or do you like the pokerhand links better?
Thanks for reading.

This has been the past 4 days. I have barely played for the most part because I’ve been doing a lot of things other than poker. I’ll get into that a little bit later. I have been pretty much focusing on playing the shorter stack donks as much as possible. I think I got into a little phase there where I wasn’t game selecting like I used to and I was just playing anyone. I think I’m +EV against pretty much anyone that plays 100nl HU but there are so many super soft spots in HU and its a lot easier to just wait for those spots. I don’t really have too many interesting hands from the past few days because I’ve basically just waited for decent hands and gotten paid off. I have started messing around with making videos so as soon as I make one I’ll get it up on here.
I’ve been playing tennis pretty much every day lately and I think the physical activity has been awesome for my body. I feel so much more focused and awake all day and just better in general.
Yesterday was such a great day. I woke up at 7:30 and got Jody ready for work and played a quick session and won a few buy-ins. By 9 am, I was on the tennis court and won a sick, sick match 7-5, 7-6. Tennis is like poker in so many ways. I was thinking about that yesterday, maybe I’ll go into more detail in another blog. I went home and cleaned up and I got up to a local bar by noon to watch the games. I have a few Heads up pools and then a bunch of other weird little props. March Madness is one of my favorite times of the year. We had a good time at the bar and stayed there til about 5:30. I did really well on my total score of each game being odd prop bet for the night.
At 7:30 my dart team had our play-in playoff game. There are ten teams in the league and we finished 9th in the regular season. The bottom three teams all play a little double elimination tournament for the last playoff spot. The first game we lost to the 10th place team in a close match where I shot really really well. We play baseball and I shot 12 darts over avg. So this meant we had to win 3 straight to move on. We beat the 8th place team in the next game and I again shot well. Then the 8th place team lost to the 10th place team so we’d have to beat the 10th place team two games in a row. We did just that advancing into the playoffs. It was a super sweet win too because that team is the most hated team in the league.
This weekend is going to be really busy again for me. Today I’m playing tennis and then going to Chickie’s and Pete’s in Philly to watch all the games. Tomorrow, Jody and I have to head down to our apartment to start packing everything up. Sunday is Easter so lots of family stuff to do that day.
Thanks for reading..

I’ve been taking things easy for the most part. I’ve been really focused on getting our new apartment and taking care of things with the old apartment that it has left little time for poker. I have also started playing tennis every day with a friend and Jody has had a few doctor’s appointments this week as well.
During the day Saturday I played a quick 300 hand session and won $230. Not too many interesting hands to talk about from there. Saturday night we went to a friends house for a party to watch the Marquez-Pacquiao fight. Not much to say there, it was a good fight and I was happy Pac won. Sunday we had a lot of family stuff to take care so I actually took the whole day off.
Yesterday I again only played a quick 300 hand session and won about $250. I have started mixing in a lot more 200nl HU but only against opponents I know are really weak. Not too many interesting hands from there either although I did lose two $150 pots AIPF with AJ
Today I finally put in a longer session, playing about 1300 hands. Here is the graph:
I played one stupid donk that I had played yesterday for about 500 hands. I had all of his betting patterns figured out for the most part and I was up a decent amount on him when he reloaded to a full buy in and this hand happened:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2289799
We had a lot of history prior to this hand.. In one spot I induced him to 3 bet shove on a 8 4 2 flop when I had K8 and he had A9 and I snap called and held. In another spot similar to this I had bluff 3 bet him and showed him. We battled a lot longer and I grinded him back down to $200 until he went on a nice rush and got back to $400 and left. I played a few hands bad in that sequence but I did take a 6 outer in one pot. At the same time on another table I blew two buyins at 100nl to a stupid nit. I do feel lately that I’ve been getting a little too emotionally invested especially when I play people for a long period of time. I need to make sure I stay focused on not tilting and not getting angry at horrible players that beat me.
We should find out today or tomorrow whether we got approved for the apartment and there is also a possibility that we will be able to find out the sex of the baby tomorrow so hopefully lots of good news will be on the way.

P.S. Seth if you read this could you let me know where to go to use the links function up on the left? Also, if you feel like shamelessly plugging my blog to FCP, I wouldn’t mind
Thanks…
This is almost all 100nl HU with about 400 hands of 200nl where I played a horrible guy and he ran hot against me. I would have liked to put in more hands but I did spend almost 3 full days playing WSOP circuit events and I have had a few days where I just didn’t feel like putting in hands. I played one online MTT this month finishing 4th in a Full tilt $50 1r + 1a on tourney for 1.9k. I’ll post a few hands to get everyone caught up on what the month has been like so far.

Okay, thats enough spew for now. Most of the WTF was I thinking hands were pretty horribly spewy but whatever, I know what I did poorly in them. Hope everyone enjoys some of the hands, in the future when I do blogs for each day of play I’ll talk more about what I was thinking in my hands.
Hey everyone.. I’m going to try and keep this as short as possible while giving as much info about me as possible. When I blog I enjoy writing about other things in my life besides just poker because an all poker blog can get boring imo and I like to think my life is pretty entertaining.
My real name is Trevor although most people call me Tre or TreMomey. I am almost 25 years old and live in New Jersey. I started playing poker in about 2002 when my roomate at Rutgers introduced all of us to the game. I became completely addicted and began making the hour and a half drive to Atlantic City a few times a week. I became a regular face at the Trop and also started to play online a bit. After I graduated from Rutgers in 2005, I decided that I would play poker for a living for a while. I had very little bills to pay and I was able to live rent free in a nice condo right on the beach in Margate.
I made most of my money playing live 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 nl even though I had nowhere near the bankroll I should have had to play 2/5 or 5/10. Over the past three years I’ve had my share of ups and downs and there are a ton of things I would have done differently as far as money management goes but I had a blast for the most part. I traveled a ton and got to see a lot of places I’d love to see again. If I could go back in time I would have started playing online cash games a lot sooner. About 5 months ago I started playing them full time with a decent amount of success. Right now I am focusing solely on heads up NL sticking around the 100nl and 200nl stakes.
As far as tournaments go, I have had pretty decent results. I’ve had my best results in the rebuy tournaments. In June of 2006 I chopped the 3r on PS for about 3k, the following month I chopped it again and won it for about 4k from my Las Vegas hotel room. About a year ago I made my deepest run in the Sunday Million finishing 28th for 3.3k busting when my JJ<77. In October 2007 I took down a $30 freezeout straight up for 3.1k. In live bigger buy in tournaments I have four cashes for about 29k. In December 2006 I chopped when we got to heads up for 15k in the Trump Classic 6 max event. One year later in December 2007 I finished 7th out of 701 in a WSOP Circuit event at Harrahs AC for 8.4k.
As far as my personal life goes, last August I got engaged to my dream girl, Jody. We currently live in Brigantine which is just about 5 minutes outside of AC. We are moving at the end of the month back to our hometown area which is about 45 minutes away from AC. We are getting married September of 2009. Jody and I recently found out that we are going to be parents, something we are both very very excited about. I think thats about it but I’m sure everyone will learn a lot more about me in upcoming entries. I’ll close it out with a few pics because I think its good to know what the person whose life your reading about looks like. Also, if you have a ton of time on your hands and want to read about my past, my old blog is www.tremomeypoker.blogspot.com. There is some funny stuff on there that I laugh at when I read it over. Reading it makes me realize that I had no idea what I was talking about even two years ago, not that I necessarily know what I’m talking about now, lol. If anyone has any questions or comments please leave them so I at least know someone is reading ![]()
Hey everyone…
I’m very excited to start my new blog here at texasholdem.com. It has been a while since I blogged regularly and I look forward to sharing my grind with everyone. I’ll post an introduction/bio shortly. At any time feel free to comment or let me know what you think about the blog..
