Haven’t been able to play as much as I would like so far, but this should change this week. Started off running pretty cold yet playing well and things are starting to go my way. Im up just over a BI after about 2700 hands. UCF has no game this weekend so I will be playing all day while watching the other games.
Next weekend I will be in Tampa for a robotics competition so no poker for me then, but I’ll remember to update before then.
Hello everyone in blog world,
While I will mainly focus on poker in the blog I will be including some of the happenings in my life as well. So with that I guess I should introduce myself.
My name is Matt Kaplan, I am 21 and attend the University of Central Florida. I moved to south Florida from Long Island when I was 6, so I pretty much grew up wearing shorts and sandals everyday. I started playing roller hockey when I was 9, and then all 3 of my younger brothers followed so the sport has been a big part of life. Once I got to high school I joined the robotics team, which participates in the FIRST Robotics Competition (www.usfirst.org). Once I graduated and moved to Orlando I became a mentor for a local team. That, along with poker, has consumed my life for the past 7 years.
My poker story is the typical one, started playing $5 home games with friends and then discovering online. My main focus has always been sit and go’s and MTTs, but have recently made the decision to switch over to cash. I will be playing .10/.25 through a backer and hopefully moving up the ladder while improving my game.
The plan for the rest of the week is to log some hours 2 or 3 tabling, and then spending Friday on the beach. Saturday will be spent with more poker, and watching my Knights take on Miami (hopefully we don’t get kicked too bad). Finally Sunday we have the J-E-T-S taking on the Bengals, and maybe even some homework lol.
